Keep Austin Beautiful recognized for Leadership, Educational programming

Mission Capital and Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center announce award finalists and winners

Keep Austin Beautiful is honored to be recognized by the community for its leadership and educational programming.

Mission Capital has selected Keep Austin Beautiful Executive Director, Rodney Ahart as a finalist for the Nonprofit Leadership Award, a part of the Mission Capital Awards. The Nonprofit Leadership Award is presented to a current nonprofit CEO/Executive Director whose notable achievements over the course of his or her career have resulted in lasting community impact. Ahart has been the Executive Director at Keep Austin Beautiful for just over seven years, and his leadership continues to aid the organization as it grows to fit the needs of an ever expanding city. The Mission Capital Awards celebrates the people and organizations at the heart of solving complex community problems. Finalists will be celebrated at Party for Good on November 1, 2017.

Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center is hosting their 10th Annual Celebration of Children in Nature on September 29th and Keep Austin Beautiful is honored to be the recipient of the John F. Ahrns Award for Environmental Education. Keep Austin Beautiful has been conducting youth education programs since 2006 and currently works in over 100 schools (K-12) in the Austin area. By pairing educational curriculum with service projects students are able to explore nature and problem solve through shared experiences.
