Adopt-a-Street

Adopt-a-Street

You've seen the cool signs around town, but what's it all about? The Adopt-a-Street program gives local groups the opportunity to take ownership over a public street in Austin.

Cleanup Request   Report    Payment

Adopt-a-Street partners make a commitment to:

  • Adopt at least 1/2 a mile within the City of Austin for one year
  • Host at least 4 cleanups a year of the adopted segment
  • Pay an adoption fee to have the Adopt-a-Street sign produced and installed and to cover all administrative costs for the street adoption

By adopting a street, your group receives guidance in planning your cleanups, cleanup supplies, trash collection, and a really cool street sign!

Adopt-a-Street applications are accepted year-round and are processed twice a year. All applications submitted between January 1st and June 30th will be considered for a start date of August 1st. Any applications received between July 1st and December 31st will be considered for a start date of February 1st
