The Keep Austin Beautiful Green Teens Program is a youth development and service program that provides middle and high school students the opportunity to engage with their local community in ways that cultivate pride of place and a sense of self. Through this program, teens are empowered to be active in their communities and to find solutions to problems they’ve identified. This after-school program fosters environmental stewardship and provides hands-on learning about gardening, watersheds, waste management, energy, and more. Keep Austin Beautiful works with the teacher(s) at participating schools by providing curriculum, funding for service projects, resources and project supplies, on-going project support, and field trip opportunities.

At the end of the school year, four of the participating youth are awarded a paid summer internship, which allows them to assume a leadership role teaching younger youth, developing career skills, and continuing their exploration of the natural world.
