Keep Austin Beautiful, a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire and educate all Austinites to volunteer together, beautify green spaces, clean waterways, and reduce waste every day, seeks a Corporate Engagement Coordinator to lead and support its cleanup and beautification initiatives. The Corporate Engagement Coordinator will mobilize hundreds of corporate and community volunteers each year to clean and beautify shared public spaces. The Corporate Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the development team and reports to the Development  Manager.

Responsibilities:

The Corporate Engagement Coordinator will build and maintain relationships with corporate volunteers and key community partners, lead and support volunteer service days, and coordinate project logistics. Primary programs include Clean Lady Bird Lake and Adopt-A-Street.

Duties:

  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, registration, and service day logistics for Clean Lady Bird Lake and Adopt-A-Street, and provide support for Keep Austin Beautiful Day as needed
  • Communicate with corporate groups to schedule and maintain ongoing volunteer engagement opportunities
  • Plan and implement corporate volunteer appreciation events throughout the year
  • Develop and maintain corporate relationships to secure in-kind donations for the organization
  • Promote employee giving and employer matching programs to volunteers
  • Maintain and report up-to-date records of corporate volunteer engagement and program results
  • Execute an outreach plan to the business community to increase and expand participation in the Keep Austin Beautiful Business Membership Program
  • Recruit members of professional organizations, Chamber of Commerce, and other business groups for volunteer opportunities with the organization
  • Enter and manage data in GivePulse, Monday.com, Mailchimp, and Little Green Light
  • Represent the organization at corporate and community engagement events
  • Support other programming as needed 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have volunteer coordination experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and have a passion for the environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public affairs, or a related field preferred
  • Natural leader with the ability to motivate and encourage others
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of corporate fundraising
  • 2+ years of experience working with and organizing volunteers
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating and overseeing events
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to multi-task, lift 20 pounds, and maintain a positive attitude with community members
  • A flexible schedule is required, including some evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel, as well as GivePulse, Monday.com, Mailchimp, and Little Green Lights preferred

Hours:  This is a full-time position with weekends and evenings, supporting and leading projects.

The Community Engagement Manager leads the team that engages individuals, corporate partners, and civic groups to take action to beautify Austin’s waterways and green spaces. As a key member of the leadership team, the Community Engagement Manager will implement strategies to mobilize and inspire Austinites to volunteer, donate, and advocate on behalf of the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Supervises, supports, and mentors the community engagement team
  • Develops and oversees community engagement strategies, including volunteer recruitment, registration, tracking, and reporting
  • Manages program and volunteer engagement goals to achieve community and corporate partner requirements
  • Manages program budgets and goals
  • Oversees project and volunteer management software
  • Manages, leads, and supports cleanup, beautification, and volunteer programs, including Keep Austin Beautiful Day, Adopt-a-Street, Adopt-a-Creek, Clean Lady Bird Lake, and Community Cleanups
  • Builds strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including the City of Austin’s Resource Recovery Department,  Parks and Recreation Department, Watershed Protection Department, and other community and corporate partners
  • Manages City of Austin Education, Cleanup, and Beautification contract requirements, including attending required meetings and preparing and submitting reporting requirements in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience supervising staff required 
  • 3 years of experience in volunteer management, community organizing, corporate community relations, project management, or other related areas required
  • Strong relationship management skills, enhancing internal organizational relations and external community interactions
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, delegate, and create systems and processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel, as well as GivePulse, Monday.com, and Mailchimp preferred
  • Requires exceptional knowledge, skills, and abilities in data analysis and insight generation, and translating complex issues into actionable efforts
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and juggle multiple priorities, and react and adjust quickly to changing conditions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Exceptional customer service orientation in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure
  • Analytical thinker who understands the roles and contributions of all sectors of the community and can mobilize resources (financial and human) through meaningful engagement
  • Knowledgeable of Austin’s diverse communities and the challenges faced by underrepresented communities in accessing clean and beautiful green spaces
  • Reliable transportation required

Hours:  This is a full-time position, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.

The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled individual who can create, coordinate, and manage their workflow independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Office Administration and Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate and current QuickBooks records including entering check requests and deposits, receipts, and credit card charges, and invoicing monthly
  • Process payroll, health benefits, new employee enrollment, paid time off tracking
  • Process bi-monthly 403(b) contributions
  • Coordinate Chief Executive Officer’s calendar, reports, presentations, memorandums, and correspondence as needed
  • Coordinate Keep Austin Beautiful shared calendar noting all staff and Board meetings, Keep Austin Beautiful holidays, staff and Board birthdays, and years of service anniversaries
  • Support staff celebrations for birthdays and anniversaries
  • Organize logistics for staff and Board of Directors retreats and monthly meetings including ordering food and reserving meeting spaces
  • Maintain current Board of Directors records including a contact list, calendar of events, and Board of Directors webpage
  • Enter donor and donation information into Little Green Light (donor database)
  • Assist with purchasing and maintaining office supplies and volunteer and education supply inventory
  • Assist the contracted bookkeeper with preparing monthly financial reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • High School or GED equivalent required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software with experience managing schedules in Outlook, data entry in Excel
  • Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks Online software and Little Green Light or donor database equivalent
  • Demonstrated success with organizing priorities, working with deadlines, and managing multiple projects and administrative tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through on all tasks

Hours:  This is a part-time hybrid position, for up to 20 hours per week. The office hours are Monday–Friday 9 am to 6 pm.

Pay & Benefits:  Keep Austin Beautiful offers a progressive work environment, mileage, and cellular phone reimbursement. The pay range is $18-$20 per hour, commensurate with experience.
