Environmental Education Intern – Spring 2023 

Keep Austin Beautiful’s education team is seeking an intern to assist and support our popular Clean Creek Campus (CCC) program. 

Keep Austin Beautiful works with schools and after-school programs to teach youth about recycling, composting, resource management, ecology, water conservation, horticulture and more. The primary objective is to promote environmental stewardship through hands-on activities and service-learning projects. The ideal candidate will be able to foster a positive learning atmosphere that promotes a respect for the natural environment while serving as a positive role model to students. 

We are looking for support in the following areas: 

  • Education Support- lead Clean Creek Campus education activities and project stations for 3rd – 8th grade students. 
  • Project Support- preparing materials for CCC projects, gathering extra supplies, and helping organize and clean after project days. 
  • Administrative Support – inventorying, restocking, and labeling supplies for our CCC program as well as updating existing curriculum and activities. 


  • Must have completed at least 60 college semester hours. 
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation. Mileage reimbursement is provided. 
  • Must complete a background check and fingerprinting. 


  • Approximately 10 hours a week 
  • Must be able to commit to the full 10-week internship from February to April and work at least 2 days between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM 
  • Must be available for end of semester “Flexible dates” between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM for CCC administrative tasks. 

PAY & BENEFITS: Keep Austin Beautiful offers a progressive work environment, mileage reimbursement, and an hourly pay rate of $17 per hour. Receiving the stipend is dependent upon completing all the requirements of the internship.
