We collaborate with schools to provide youth education on recycling, composting, resource management, ecology, water conservation, and sustainability. Our goal is to promote environmental stewardship through engaging, hands-on activities and service-learning projects.

Position Overview: The Education Programs Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the administration of our in-school, after-school, and summer youth programs. We seek a passionate individual with effective communication and program coordination skills to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule Keep Austin Beautiful’s educational programs for elementary, middle, and high school students.
  • Lead activities, presentations, and service-learning projects as an educator when needed.
  • Foster a positive, engaging learning environment for students and staff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for after-school programs, offering support to teachers and schools.
  • Assist the Education Programs Manager with program coordination, communication, and development.
  • Support the Activity Kit program, including outreach, curriculum development, and managing checkouts.
  • Collaborate with the Education team on curriculum development and revisions to ensure TEKS alignment.
  • Track and report on program participation and other key metrics.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in K-12 youth education in formal or informal settings, focusing on environmental topics such as recycling, composting, and water conservation.
  • At least 2 years of experience in program administration and coordination.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift thirty pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.

Work Hours: This is a full-time position that may require occasional evening and weekend work.

About Us: Keep Austin Beautiful is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating all Austinites to volunteer together, beautify green spaces, clean waterways, and reduce waste daily. We are seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the efficient operation of our organization. The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled individual who can manage their workflow independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including check requests, deposits, receipts, credit card charges, and monthly invoicing.
  • Process payroll, health benefits, new employee enrollment, paid time off tracking, and bi-monthly 403(b) contributions.
  • Coordinate the CEO’s calendar, reports, presentations, memorandums, and correspondence.
  • Manage and update the Keep Austin Beautiful shared calendar, including staff and Board meetings, holidays, birthdays, and service anniversaries.
  • Organize logistics for staff and Board retreats and meetings, including food orders and meeting space reservations.
  • Maintain Board of Directors records, including contact lists, event calendars, and webpage updates.
  • Enter and manage donor information in the Little Green Light database; manage office and program supplies.
  • Collaborate with the bookkeeper on financial reports and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Outlook for schedule management and Excel for data entry.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online (certification preferred) and familiarity with donor databases like Little Green Light or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to follow-through on all tasks.

Preferred:

  • QuickBooks Online certification.
  • Basic understanding of HR practices and processes.

Work Hours: This is a part-time position, offering up to 20 hours per week. The role requires in-office presence one day each week to perform tasks such as processing mail, receiving deliveries, and making deposits. While the work hours are flexible within the Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM window, you must be available to work at least four days per week.

Benefits: As this is a part-time position, health, dental, and retirement benefits are not included. However, Keep Austin Beautiful provides a supportive and dynamic work environment. The role offers pro-rated vacation and sick leave, along with mileage and cell phone reimbursement.
