About Us: Founded in 1985, Keep Austin Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating Austinites to enhance their communities by volunteering, beautifying green spaces, cleaning waterways, and reducing waste. Last year, the organization empowered over 9,000 volunteers to remove 70 tons of litter from public spaces and educated more than 12,000 youth on recycling, composting, and becoming future environmental leaders.

Position Overview: The Content and Media Assistant plays a key role in assisting with the creation and analysis of marketing materials, social media, website content, and support for the Marketing & Communications Department. This person is responsible for tracking and analysis, content creation and strategy, and event coordination. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, and creative thinker who thrives on collaboration, takes initiative, and has an eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating, scheduling, and tracking content across social media, website, blog, and other communications platforms, including traditional media.
• Design and update marketing materials to reflect current organizational information, standards, and voice.
• Accurately and effectively represent Keep Austin Beautiful and its mission through communications.
• Take on additional tasks and projects as requested.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• 1-2 years experience with graphic design, and a working knowledge of branding best practices.
• Comfortable being on camera and filming content for social media.
• General knowledge of social media platform analytics.
• Experience designing presentations and translating data into clear, engaging communications.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as a member of a team.
• Physical ability to lift thirty pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and MailChimp.
• Knowledge of environmental topics such as waste, recycling, composting, and water quality.
• Ability to engage in conversational Spanish.

Work Hours: This part-time position averages 20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends. Flexible scheduling is available.

Benefits: This part-time position does not include health, dental, or retirement benefits. However, Keep Austin Beautiful offers a collaborative and engaging work environment, along with mileage and cell phone reimbursement.
