This year, Keep Austin Beautiful is striving to engage more volunteers than ever in projects that serve areas in need. For the second year, Facebook Austin answered the call to volunteer as part of our county-wide day of service, Keep Austin Beautiful Day, which created 4,225 volunteer opportunities at 112 project locations. Volunteers from Facebook joined projects across the city, picking up litter, clearing illegal dumpsites, and helping make Austin’s open spaces cleaner and more beautiful.
Through volunteering, Facebook Austin looks to deepen connections with local communities and contribute to projects that are important to Austinites. Keep Austin Beautiful volunteer projects are all about getting to know our neighbors from across the city. By serving next to our fellow Austinites, we learn more about each other and can help work on the issues that matter to all of us, such as making sure our green spaces and waterways stay clean and usable.
We are excited to work with the Facebook Austin team, and look forward to seeing them at many more volunteer projects. As 2018 progresses, look out for more Keep Austin Beautiful volunteer projects where you too can help clean and beautify our city.
