A Beautiful Day for Our Resource Giveaway

After many weeks of rain, the sun broke through just in time for our Resource Giveaway Day on October 27th. Keep Austin Beautiful’s Resource Giveaway Day is a free resource day that we host annually. This year we provided more than 200 tools, 900 native plants, and 150 lbs of native seed to the Austin community, in addition to connecting the Travis County Master Gardner’s and Sustainable Food Center with those seeking plant advice

Thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers, our strong East side community, and the good weather, we had more than 100 people participate in the event. Not only was this a great event to pick up free resources, it was a great Saturday morning to spend with our neighbors. We saw people

All in all, it was a great day for a great Resource Giveaway Day. We believe that events like this help make resources more accessible to everyone making our city a more beautiful and equitable Austin.

Did you know that we offer free resources all year round too? We have a tool lending library, free mulch, compost and soil, and free event recycling available on our website. Be sure to check it out next time you want to beautify your school or community or just want to volunteer with Keep Austin Beautiful!

We are so grateful for our partnerships with the Great Outdoors, the LBJ Wildflower Center, Texas Disposal Services, KIND and Good Pops that helped us make this event possible.
