In celebration of Earth Month and the 10-year anniversary of our Clean Creek Campus program, fifth graders from Hill Elementary School participated in a service-learning day. Their service for the day entailed picking up litter and spreading seed balls at Northwest District Park. Following the service project, City of Austin Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo presented the students with a City Proclamation and a Clean Creek Campus banner to recognize their service.
The event was a wonderful way to commemorate the 16,000 youth who have participated in the program. KVUE Austin featured a thoughtful article on the program complete with photos.
Clean Creek Campus is implemented in partnership with the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department.
