Far West Blvd Street underwent a transformation when street adopters, Young Men’s Service League, geared in neon joined as a team to keep their portion of Austin’s streets clean.
Friends, teammates, and family members worked diligently while while sharing stories and enjoying the outdoors. Last year, street adopters removed three tons of Austin’s waste and successfully recycled 380 pounds of material. This kind of change can be exponential with the adoption of more streets.
The best news? The adoption process is…

- First: gather your group. This can include anyone from neighbors, co-workers, or family members.
- Second: apply for adoption (check the Adopt-a-Street map for a location near you).
- Third: once your location is confirmed, submit payment
- Lastly: schedule and complete at least 4 cleanups to beautify your adopted street!
