Cleanup on the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve

Volunteers will be picking up trash along FM 2769 at the Snowden and Buntentracts of the preserve. Gloves, tools, and trash bags will be provided so the only thing you'll need to bring is yourself & a full bottle of water! Volunteers will meet at the Snowden house and walk to the projectsite. The entrance to the Snowden tract is on the east side of FM 2769 justnorth of Abbotsbury Drive - the best way to find it is to search for"Snowden Tract, Travis County BCP" in Google Maps.

Workday at Blunn Creek Nature Preserve

The Blunn Creek Partnership is working on ecological restoration of the 38-acre Blunn Creek Nature Preserve. Volunteers are welcome to join one of the monthly workdays on the 1st Saturday of every month. Workdays will consist of cutting ligustrum and stacking it in a brush pile for chipping. Groups are welcome!
Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and a long sleeved shirt, and bring a water bottle and gloves. Parking is available along 1200 St Edwards Dr. Please meet promptly at 8:30am as it is a short hike to the working location.

Violet Crown Festival

Springtime means the Violet Crown Festival is on the horizon! This art-filled festival is literally a walk in the park, with plenty of stops for music, food, shopping,and tons of free kids’ activities. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brentwood Park (6710 Arroyo Seco, access from Yates) is the setting for this beloved festival, and admission is free.
The annual event will again showcase the best of local music, art and craft vendors,Austin food, neighborhood history and community resources, and family activities. Proceeds from the festival will benefit projects in the Brentwood and Crestview communities.
Parking is limited, so attendees are encouraged to walk or cycle to the festival.
